That......is More Like It!

(Spider-man 3 Q&A, four stories down) WOW, This is what Ainticool does best. Bring home the point and hope that the studio is listening. Sure there is no story here, as usual, but there is a keen point briefly gleaming off the dark photoshoped fan art they put on their site Today. What's the point?

"Sam, you may have strayed a bit too far, Pal!"

Look at this fan art piece on the Left. It makes you want to go buy the damn tickets now doesn't it? Spider-Man has had quite a few suit changes in his forty plus years on the comics page. Only one of them is as cool as
the good old Red and Blue....the classic Black!! Below, AICNer Quint tries his best to plead with Sam Raimi and admits that SONY did in fact ask them to hush the story from Friday. Listen Sam, change the suit and I'll wipe my posts too!!

Sony, if you're paying attention... and I think you are since you asked us to take down that Q&A, take a look at that art. I trust Sam Raimi with the film. I really do, but take a good look at that art. Too me, it is the perfect amalgam of the film universe and the comics universe. And take a look at the talkback...... I might be in the minority... I don't know, but I'd bet that most fans of the comics would prefer a Black Suit that looks a bit more like the above.

Read the rest Here!! What do you think The Classic Suit or The Braille Suit? Send me some StuffMail!

In the meantime, below is a visual warning for the future Spider-tailor.... and even more bad costumes Here!!

Early Monday Morning Misc

Seems like over 2000 people have been by since Friday evening to look at the Spider-Man 3 "Q&A" below. (I know its not a lot to some, but it is to me!) It's strange how fate can change the course of things. Suddenly your little "General Store" is smack dab in the middle of the freeway. Soon enough though, things will fall back into familiar form, although I do hope that a few of them there "Big City" folks drop by from time to time to sit a spell and jaw about them there "Super Hero" type films. Thanks for all the emails, I do appreciate the good will between fans that we seem to share outside of an AICN talkback. Anyway, some things we have to get out that are just not worth thier own posts. Let's call this a cleanup session:

Over at the www.ComicsContinuum.com there's a picture of the new Blade TV series that makes me think, they really aren't going to add anything to the "Blade" character, are they? Don't we now have two standards in genre film and TV? Can't we now point to Spider-Man 2, Justice League Unlimited, X2, Batman Begins, Hellboy, BattleStar Gallactica and Farscape and say yes? How about we point to Catwoman, Manthing, Ultimate Avengers, WitchBlade, DareDevil, Electra, PainKiller Jane and Blade TV and say NO! Marvel especially, get your act together!! We deserve the good stuff!!! Put back the cheese in the can!! Bring out the aged stuff in the wax shell, Man!

I love "Entourage"! I don't have to defend it to those who think its shallow, male wish fulfillment. It's not. Its called Parody. Look into it. Entourage is full of it. It's a more accurate depiction of Hollywood's shallow reality than we have seen before. If it's wish fulfillment for some, remember this, we live in a world where you can buy a complete set of "Napoleon Dynamite" action figures!! "Napoleon Dynamite" action figures!! Even "Kip" gets an action figure!!

What's my point? I'm just trying to distract you. I'm sick of people slapping the hate on "Entourage." It's a smart show and it turned Kevin Connolly from the twirp above to Mr. Cool on the right! Aintitcool has some cool shots that are obviously all about Vinnie's "Aquaman" film. Check it out HERE!

Hotdogs for Homophobes!! This is funny, no matter how you like your hotdogs!! Conan O'Brien's gang has still got it! I can't stop watching it, I just continue to laugh! HERE!

SpongeBob SquarePants isn't Gay! He's just happy! Being Gay is about attraction, am I correct? I don't think it's about acting like you're brain is a walnut. Why do Conservative Politicians find SpongeBob sexual? That is a scary thought. Also, isn't this a sign that those "Brokeback Mountain" parodies are now ready to be thrown on the pile where we put all those WASSUP spoofs. The end is HERE!! (Technically I think he's Bi anyway)

All a great hero needs is a cool costume, some great villains and a kickass theme song!! I'm not going to say which of those things are present HERE, you decide.

Finally...Lobo's Paramilitary Xmas!

Whew! So many folks are coming here for that Spider-Man 3 "Q & A" that I'm afraid to post anything above it! Ah hell, I can't wait, too much other amazing shite has come down the electric pike in the past few hours. (translation: I found more stuff you have to see!)

If you are a fan of "Batman: Dead End," if you think "Grayson" is a shining can of Clorox Cleanup in the humid, festering outhouse that is "Fan Films," or if you just think the "Main Man" is the ultimate combination of Foot hitting Ass, then you are in for a treat! Many Years Ago, (2002) the rumor was that a student filmmaker named Scott Leberecht had made an amazingly faithful and entertaining short film of one of the wrongest rights in comic book history: "Lobo's Paramilitary Christmas Special!"

We all know the story right? It's that classic tale of Christmas that is handed down through the ages, except that in this one the Easter Bunny hires Lobo to fragg ole' Saint Nick, whose holding up at his Arctic Industrial Compound, making use of convenient "Elf labor" to build his arsenal of various caliber "Toys." A heartwarming adventure that climaxes with a close quarters knife fight between Lobo and Claus. My oh my, many a loose elf limb lying around in this one.

We all heard the rumors, and to make it worse, we saw the amazing screen shots of actor "Andrew Bryniarski" in what has got to be one of the most faithful translations from page to screen of DC Comics' history! I personally searched forever and ever, looking under every rock and Sharez heap in that vast media junkyard located in the last thousand pages of your Google search, but a copy of said film wasn't out there...anywhere. Time passes. Just when the heated desire for something wanes, it appears....

Whether you think of Lobo as a sly, yet ultraviolent satire on 1980's "Rambo" American extremism or just see him and think "Ass Kicker," I think you'll find this enjoyable!

CHECK IT OUT HERE!!!

What do you think? Is it as good as you hoped? Let me know!

In Come The Fakers..with the truth?

Seems like ten minutes after we read about the black Spidey costume, everyone and their Uncle Skippy brought out the set shots and plot secrets. Aintitcool.com has a story and photos of what they think is Venom. It's not Venom, it's from a creative fellow's fan trailers for Spider-man 3. Check them out Here and Here! (more on that Here!) Wow, the effort he went to...

The real story may be what Aintitcool was calling a "Q and A" with their secret source which has suddenly, without explanation disappeared, replaced by the haunting words:
REMOVED AT THE REQUEST
OF SONY
...........Luckily, the whole text was floating in my clipboard. A quick "Undo" and I got my hands on it....heheheh..... The question is, why would SONY want to quiet a fib or tall tale? Is the text that waits below, the "Truth?" I hope not, cause I don't like all that I read. The big missing link is where is Gwen in this, I'm not giving anything away to say she isn't mentioned at all below. So, for better or worse select the "Inviso-Text" below to see the hidden spoilers or lies (depending on which they are) that were first presented at Aintitcool at this link Here.
What do you think...Send Stuff Daddy Some Mail!

Caution: If true, some of these are Super Spoilers!!!

The Q&A goes into amazing, amazing detail. It's a spectacular amount of spoilers if true, including who lives and who dies. Also, note that we had this a good long while before the costume was released and the Q&A has the source detailing the black suit costume exactly right. Be very, very warned of spoilers. Also note just who Bruce Campbell is supposed to be playing... That would be absolutely perfect for future reference, especially if they're working towards a Sinister Six flick at any point.
Take with a block of salt, but enjoy!!!

Q1. Who are the villains and how much screentime does each one get?

A. Venom,Sandman, and GG2. Sandman is the main one, building up to venom at end. GG has a good amount,
though not sure how much time. He's in 2 major battles.

Q2.Does the GG look cool, how much green does he have on him, is his black snow suit have a black hood that covers the top of his head,do the belts on his legs hold pumpkin bombs,is his goggles yellow lens, does he wear gloves of any kind, and why does Harry go with this suit instead of the one his father used?

A. He looks cool as an individual idea. But again, nothing remotely goblin like about him except the weapons, glider and some green on him. No hood, the belts hold two swords. One long one on his back, a smaller one on his right leg. Pumpkins bombs are in his glider. Goggles are black. He has a green mouthmask. Gloves are black. No idea why. Possible to make it more to his liking, a way to "improve".

Q3.Does Venom fight in this movie or does he just show up as a cliffhanger?

A. Yes he fights. Again, he will fight Spidey with Sandman at the end, the movie leads up to this "battle royale" at the construction site. GG will also join in the fight, but not on the sides of Ven/San. GG fights with Spidey instead.

A.I've seen the costume of Venom (yes hes in it, but only towards the end) and its extremely cool. Think all black latex with veins all over his upper half, reaching over onto his arms. However the veins also shape into the Spider thats on his chest in the comics (no white). Venom will be a little larger than. spidey. Basically the bad version of spidey. Venom has nasty teeth, no where near exaggerated in the comics. Just really sharp yellow teeth, very fang like, it will be prosthetics. Tongue will be CG.

Q5.I'm kinda confused, does spidey wear the symbiote before Brock gets it?

A.Yes. After his date with MJ, the symbiote clings to his shoe and waits for Parker in his room one night. He
then wakes up upside down on the side of a building wearing the symbiote costume.

Q6.If spidey does wear the symbiote, what does it look like exactly?

A.The same costume as blue/red only black with all the scale detail and webbing over it. Not impressive. It looks like this because it stuck onto his old costume then it clung on Peter.

Q7.And how long does he wear the suit?

A.For right now, a good chunk since the movie is about Peter and how the symbiote possesses him, and the decisions he has to make.

Q8.Who does he fight with it?

A.Sandman, robbers, and Harry

Q9.What makes him take it off?

A.Bell Tower.

Q10.What kind of things does Sandman do in this movie power wise?

Grows a lot. Sandstorms. Hand as a sledgehammer and mace. The FX will raise the bar.

Q11.Where do all the fights take place on/at?

A.All over. In the air/Alley, underground subway, armoured truck in the streets, construction site.

Q12.Is there a cliffhanger at the end of this movie?

A.Not currently. But there is one scene that leaves questions opened about the return of the symbiote.

Q13.Who does Bruce Campbell play?

A.He has a cameo as somebody named Quentin Beck.

Q14.Where does the symbiote come from?

A.An astroid.

Q15.Does spidey wear his regular red and blue spidey suit in the movie?

Yes. At the beginning and end of the movie.
Q16.Is S-M3 and S-M4 being made back to back?

A.Nope.

Q17.Is Venom going to be the villain for S-M4,or is S-M3 going to be it for him?

A.End of the line for Brocks version of Venom, but not the symbiote itself.

Q18.Are there lots of fights/action in this movie?

A.TONS. Four BIG fight sequences. All very fun, and clever. Wont be disappointed in that department. Be prepared for A LOT of fight sequences including a revisit to the subway fight sequence (only underground this time).

Q19. What is that church for?

A.The church sequence is used when Black Symbiote Spidey attempts to tear his suit off by the ringing of the church bell. Unknown to him that right under him in the church Brock is walking in where pieces of the symbiote land on him and then bond with him.

Q20. Do GG2 and Spidey ever face off?

A.Yes. I will mention one fight scene at the beginning of the movie in particular. Harry in full GG Glory first attacks peter, and tosses him into the side of the building. This also where they have a huge airal fight sequence leading to a chase into an alley where (yes as a previous plot spoiler had reported) Harry is knocked out and Peter saves him and brings him to a hospital.

Q21. How much screen time does Dr.Connors have, does he mention anything about lizard experiments?

A. Connors studies the symbiote sample. So we see the inside of his lab. A lot of Lizards references.

Q22.Who dies?
A.
Harry and Aunt May.

"Hate" The Cartoon?

(Peter Bagge does Peter Parker)

Ah, the 1990's, when everything I read came from the independent comic rack. Comic books like The Brother's Hernandez "Love and Rockets", Terry LaBan's "Unsupervised Existence", "Real Stuff" by Dennis P. Eichhorn, Peter Bagge's "Neat Stuff" and then his ultimate slacker opus "Hate." I don't think we will ever see as free and creative a time in comics history as we saw in this fertile period. Stories featured people who had jobs in record stores, repaired robots in the bario, drove cabs, had sex with the rotund heirs to a fast food fortunes and played impromptu live concerts backed by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Exciting plots might revolve around getting drunk and passing out on a couch in Lionel Ritchie's vacation home or sleeping with your 60 year old landlady to pay the rent. Most of these people went on to collect real money doing more popular work in other industries, writing comic strips for hip monthly magazines, screenwriting for the movie industry or crossing over into the mainstream comics world, although if anyone knows what happened to Mr. Eichhorn, let me know, I'm still trying to figure out if he was real or not.

Film Threat has released this awful clip, that just proves that mainstreaming is the worst evil an artist can commit, if he does it sloppily at least. It seems to be a test for a "Hate" cartoon. "Hate" follows the post-teen depression years of compromise, of Bagge's stand out character and 80's, New Jersey burnout "Buddy Bradley" as he moves to the hip berg of Seattle, woos and loses the girl of his dreams (and nightmares), hooks up with the girl (with no self esteem) that he shouldn't and heads back East, having realized he'd arrived to late for Seattle's "Golden Era", worse for wear and with said girlfriend, pregnant and in-tow. It's a generational masterpiece and deserves better treatment then this piece of "Adult Swim" rejection. Check it out Here! (I've included links above for all the comics mentioned. Check them out too!)

FROM THE FILM THREAT VAULT! In the mid-90's there were rumors of a Hate animated series from creator Peter Bagge. Whereas the show never did see the light of day, an animated short did play the 1996 Sundance Film Festival..

(Here's some more Peter Bagge fun!!)

Black Costume!!! Black Costume!!!

This just showed up on SuperheroHype.Com I have no idea what it is...Click on it...Go ahead...
It is not THE black costume, but it is black and it is the Spidey suit. I sure hope its not the Spider Armor on the Left and I still hope we see something more like our friend on the Right. I trust Sam Raimi to do what is best with this, but one thing is for sure...I was dead on!! Black Costume!! Black Costume!! Black Costume!! Say it loud and there's music playing, say it soft and its almost like praying...Uh Oh excuse me, I just had a Spider-man fan overdose... What do ya think kids? Let me know!!
